“Feeling Dangerous” is a beautifully maintained 2006 Jeanneau Sun Odyssey 54 Deck Salon that combines spirited sailing performance, exceptional interior volume and the equipment needed for extended cruising. Her deep-draft keel, powerful sail plan, twin helm stations and bow thruster make her a capable passagemaker that remains manageable for a couple or experienced short-handed crew.

Now offered by only her second owner, “Feeling Dangerous” has been professionally maintained throughout her life. The care she has received is readily apparent, with pride of ownership reflected throughout her decks, machinery and warmly finished interior.

A major rigging refit was completed in September 2019. The original furling mast was removed and replaced with a conventional mast, the standing rigging was replaced, and the running rigging was renewed or overhauled. Her sail inventory is led by a 2023 Ullman Dacron mainsail with Harken batten cars and traditional slab reefing. A 120% Dacron genoa on an electric furler provides convenient headsail handling, while a lightly used 150% asymmetrical spinnaker and an A3 spinnaker—both equipped with socks—expand her performance in lighter air and downwind conditions.

The large cockpit is arranged around dual helm stations, giving the helmsman excellent visibility and creating a clear passage to the stern. A navy dodger, bimini and extension provide excellent protection from sun and weather, while cockpit cushions with backrests, a cockpit table and stern seating create an inviting outdoor living space. A cockpit shower, stainless-steel swim ladder and Magma barbecue make the stern equally well suited to swimming, entertaining and relaxed evenings at anchor.

Anchoring and tender-handling equipment has been thoughtfully arranged for cruising. A Fortress FX-23 stern anchor is carried with chain and nylon rode, while a KATO outboard hoist and dedicated motor mount simplify handling the tender’s engine. Stainless-steel bow and stern rails, double lifelines and substantial stanchions provide security when moving around the semi-flush decks.

Below deck, the raised deck-salon design brings abundant natural light into a remarkably spacious interior. Hardwood bulkheads and cream-colored leather upholstery create a warm, elegant atmosphere. The main salon offers several distinct seating areas, including a generous U-shaped dinette with a teak table, extension leaves and built-in drawers, two comfortable armchairs and a separate C-shaped settee with an integrated wine rack. A flat-screen television and surround-sound system complete the entertainment area.

The galley is designed for serious cruising, with Corian countertops, double stainless-steel sinks and an ENO four-burner stove with oven. A dedicated LPG locker provides safe storage, while separate top-loading freezer and side-opening refrigerator compartments are served by efficient keel-cooled Frigoboat refrigeration systems.

“Feeling Dangerous” features a versatile three-stateroom arrangement. The spacious forward owner’s suite includes a queen-size pedestal berth and a private en suite head with an electric-flush toilet and separate circular shower enclosure. Two additional guest cabins provide comfortable private accommodations and access to their own head and shower facilities. Removable interior bulkheads allow portions of the accommodation to be reconfigured, giving an owner considerable flexibility for family, guests, crew or extended liveaboard use.

Auxiliary power is provided by an 85-hp Yanmar 4JH3-HTE diesel showing 894 hours. The engine is coupled to a direct-drive system and a 23-inch, three-blade Max-Prop feathering propeller, providing dependable performance under power while reducing drag when sailing. A Racor 500-series primary filter and engine-mounted secondary fuel filter provide added protection for the fuel system.

Her Raymarine navigation package includes two E120 multifunction chartplotters with Navionics Gold cartography, 24-nautical-mile radar, ST60 wind and Tridata instruments, and an ST6001 autopilot. Communications equipment includes an Icom IC-M606 VHF with CommandMic III and an Iridium GO satellite communications system with an external antenna. Twin Plastimo Olympic 135 magnetic compasses provide independent navigation references at the helm stations.

Separate battery banks support the yacht’s house systems, engine starting, bow thruster, anchor windlass, electric genoa furler and cockpit winches. Her cruising capacities are equally impressive, with approximately 106 gallons of diesel, 257 gallons of fresh water and three separate holding tanks. These generous capacities reinforce her suitability for extended coastal cruising and offshore passages.

With her updated conventional rig, 2023 mainsail, comprehensive sail inventory, spacious three-cabin layout and substantial cruising equipment, “Feeling Dangerous” represents an appealing opportunity to acquire a well-maintained Jeanneau 54 Deck Salon. She offers the sailing ability to satisfy an experienced yachtsman, the systems needed for ambitious cruising and the comfort to serve as an elegant home afloat.
