Widely known as "The Barefoot Broker," Ian has sailed the Caribbean from Grenada to Cuba, made numerous deliveries across the Gulf of Mexico and has sailed the east coast of the USA from Puerto Rico to Connecticut. Certified by Annapolis Sailing School and Offshore Sailing School Ian also holds a dive certificate with National Association of Underwater Instructors. As the son of Ian Bossenger, he has been a part of the company for many years as he grew up. From helping and presenting at boat shows up and down the coast to assisting on various deliveries, California Yacht Sales has been a significant part of his life for the last 20 years. Now that he has worked with the company full time for a decade, you can find him either in the office or on the docks nearly every day. He purchased, lived on, and sold his own boat, so he is very familiar with the experience of being both a buyer and seller, not just a broker.

Tom takes a very consultative approach to selling boats. He takes a keen interest in making sure that the boat you buy is the right boat for you. As he would say, “There is a big difference between buying A boat and buying THE boat.” He understands the value of the broker/buyer and broker/seller relationships, making sure that no matter which side of the deal someone is on, they are fully informed on all aspects of the boat buying and selling process. This consultative and caring approach has allowed him to thrive in the industry, and he has succeeded in nearly every opportunity he’s been given. Tom has sold boats from less than $15,000 all the way up to $2.3 million, working with clients from every spectrum of the industry, relying largely on word of mouth referrals and making sure his clients are taken care of.

In his free time, he enjoys photography and is an avid golfer. His photography and videography is featured in nearly all of the listings featured by California Yacht Sales. Len Bucko (“Capt Buck”)

Len started sailing and scuba diving at a very early age while growing up in MA and Newport, RI.

He joined the Marine Corps Officer Training Program while still in college. Upon graduation he went on to fly the F-4 Phantom and F-18 Hornet for 20 years, retiring as a LtCol. The highlights of his military career include a 3-year assignment with the US Navy as a Top Gun Instructor and a 3-year assignment with the USAF as a Red Flag Aggressor pilot and Soviet MiG fighter jet test and evaluation pilot, flying the MiG-21, 23 and 27.

After retirement from the military, Len flew with American Airlines before going back to the Marine Corps as a civilian to manage the F-18 Flight Simulator training program for 15 years at El Toro and Miramar, CA air stations.

Throughout all these great life experiences, Len always owned a boat and sailed in many oceans around the world, including Japan, Hawaii, the Bahamas and Southern California. He has been a scuba diver since the age of 10, reaching the Instructor Trainer/Evaluator level with the YMCA, NAUI and PADI agencies. His passion for the ocean, scuba diving and photography led Len to develop a Dive Travel Company and an Underwater Photography/Video School. For Len, it’s all about the ocean.

He brings to California Yacht Sales an extensive knowledge of the sea, the experience of teaching sailing, and his USCG 100 Ton captain license. His greatest attribute is his love of people and education, which allows him to coach potential boat owners and sellers into making good decisions that fit their needs as well as their budget.

Jacques grew up on the coast of Brittany, France and started sailing at age 9, becoming an avid sailor and participating at regattas in his home town of Dinard, famous for the RORC race Cowes Dinard.

The tides at this location are the highest in Europe reaching over 14 to 15 meters!

He emigrated to the US and started working in the industry in 1997.

Since then, Jacques has worked in 3 brokerages in San Diego before starting at California Yacht Sales in 2023.

Jacques has a USCG 100 tons license and a solid knowledge in boat handling whether it is a sail boat or motor boat.

Born on the shores of Bulgaria, nestled along the captivating Black Sea, Peter’s love affair with the sea began from an early age. After moving to San Diego, California during his early teenage years, his connection with the maritime world deepened. In 2018, becoming the co-founder of Carefree Boat Club of Southern California led him to attain his 100 TON captain’s license. In combination with his National Safe Boating Council Trainer Certification, Captain Peter has trained numerous individuals in the art of powerboat operation, imparting his expertise and instilling a deep understanding of boating safety practices. Captain Peter is excited to be onboard with California Yacht Sales!

Diego de Waegh started sailing on Optimist/Sabot boats when he was just 6 years old, competing in multinational regattas into his early teens. Since then Diego has kept learning, becoming a USCG Licensed Captain, an ASA Certified Instructor, and currently captains and manages large private yachts.

“I’ve spent some time at the docks; from hull cleaning, marine upholstery, engine services, sailing/windsurfing lessons, to presently managing yachts and doing new owner orientations. I would love to hear your boating dreams and make them a reality.”
