The Carver Yachts Legacy Continues

The Carver Yachts Legacy Continues

The Carver boat brand has been around longer than most. From its' humble beginnings in a Milwaukee garage, back in 1954, Carver has risen to become one of the most prestigious production-made yachts in America. Long before fiberglass, Charles Carter and George Verhagen were building beautiful mahogany runabouts! These boats were wildly popular through the 1960's. The technology began to change in the 70's with the introduction of fiberglassing techniques. this allowed the entrepreneurs to venture into larger craft, including their cabin cruiser known as the 33 Mariner.

New owners took control in the 1980's and also took the Carver brand in a new direction, introducing the aft-cabin style luxury cruising yacht. To date, the largest Carver model to be designed and built is the 57 Voyager Pilothouse, which carries on a long tradition of luxury long range "Voyager" models produced by the company.

Today, Carver is a fully integrated yacht builder, dedicated to fine craftsmanship and workmanship. All of the woodwork, upholstery, electrical panels and more are created in-house to control the quality of the finished product, produced by over 200 employees, some of whom have been with the company for over 20 years.

While a new Carver purchase is an admirable goal, used Carver's represent tremendous value. Every once in a while we find a superior model and bring it to our brokerage to offer to our clients. We currently have a 2001, model 444, located here in San Diego with a potential transferrable slip. This model features two luxurious staterooms and a spacious "great room" that features salon, dining and galley in one unified floorspace. It make a perfect weekend condo at the water and is quite capable of cruising too!

Carver owners are loathe to give them up. So, when you see one of this quality and age, you know it won't last long! It's a real gem in our San Diego power boat inventory.
